On that occasion, Ambassador Vukčević conveyed the message of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, about his best wishes for the prosperity of Albania, as well as his personal wishes for President Ilir Meta. Vukčević informed President Meta that Serbia strives to develop bilateral relations with Albania in all areas of common interest and said that as neighbors we can and should do a lot for our countries, but also for the region. In his address, the ambassador said that Serbia is ready to make new efforts in the development of regional cooperation, in all formats, including the Open Balkans, the Berlin Process, as well as the Western Balkans Fund and the Regional Youth Cooperation Office. The ambassador stated that Europe is not complete without the Western Balkans and added that Serbia's strategic interest is full membership in the EU, and that Serbia hopes that EU negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia will begin in the coming period. During the talks, he stressed the importance of continuing the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and stressed that only with a real commitment to dialogue and a willingness to compromise is it possible to reach a sustainable and acceptable solution. President Meta wished a successful mandate to Ambassador Vukčević and announced his full support for the development of relations between Albania and Serbia, pointing out that there is potential for that and that the cooperation between the two countries has a regional impact. |
